Can stomach drops be applied to scalp? Does it even make any sense? Before you think I’m nuts, please take a look at your stomach drops – few scalp conditioners offer such concentration of herbs!
A few weeks ago I decided to find out how stomach drops affect hair, or actually the scalp. Of course, I’m going to describe you the results of my experiment. But before this, can you guess how I came up with the idea for applying stomach drops to hair?
Stomach drops as scalp conditioner: From hitting on an idea to putting it into practice
Around 4 weeks ago I finally got down to cleaning up my medicine cabinet. When I was checking the expiration date of stomach drops, I took a look at the list of ingredients. It turned out that the very drops are awfully rich in herbal constituents. And these extractions aren’t just underwhelming because the substances are commonly used in products responsible for promoting hair growth and combating hair loss!
And this is when I decided to give stomach drops a go and try them on my hair. Basically, all what I might have wasted, or ended up with, were time and a possible scalp irritation caused by the herbs, but I assumed it wouldn’t be any serious condition.
What do stomach drops contain? The finest scalp conditioner formula
I guess, we should begin with analyzing the ingredients that regular stomach drops are composed of. Below you’re going to find the list of the most common herbal extracts to be found in stomach drops:
- St John’s wort extract – is anti-inflammatory and soothing, therefore I recognized it as a good alternative to a scalp conditioner. As far as I’m concerned, St John’s wort extract is used in preparations dealing with baldness because it strengthens hair bulbs and – if we care for having long hair – it speeds up hair growth.
- Peppermint – known for combating dandruff and balancing skin’s pH. It freshens scalp up and supplies it with: vitamins A and C, iron, calcium, potassium and magnesium. When applied to scalp, it gives you this pleasant cold sensation.
- Valerian root extract – which is better known as a tranquilizer. When applied to hair, it has bactericidal (perfect for dealing with dandruff) and soothing effect. Also, this extract knows how to combat the problem of greasy scalp.
- Gentiana root extract – is bactericidal and fungicidal. This extract aids in dealing with infections therefore it should be found useful in treating problematic scalp (e.g. affected by dandruff).
- Bitter orange – the multitude of its uses may be jaw-dropping. Basically, it’s also known for helping us lose weight. It contains substances increasing metabolic rate but the thing that we’re more interested in are its anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effects.
BEWARE!
Apart from herbal extracts, regular stomach drops may also contain other substances. You shouldn’t apply such stomach drops to your scalp! Keep looking for the drops that are entirely made up of herbs.
How to use stomach drops as scalp conditioner?
Let me start from saying that stomach drops used as an effective alternative to scalp conditioner are – as it turned out – a fairly popular method. However, it must be realized that because of a high concentration of herbal extracts which might cause irritations, only small amount of stomach drops should be applied to scalp. Therefore, I’d recommend you to take just a few drops and combine them with water so as to make the blend less intensive.
Here is my way to thin stomach drops without using no bowl:
- I dampen my hands with water and don’t towel them dry.
- Then I pour a few drops of the preparation into my wet hand.
- After that I rub the stomach drops between my palms.
- Now I start rubbing the thinned stomach drops into scalp to.
- Finally massage the scalp with fingertips for 15 minutes.
When’s the best time to use stomach drops? Such hair conditioner delivers the best effects when applied in 30-40 minutes before hair washing. This period is long enough for the herbs to influence the scalp but not long enough to let the herbs irritate scalp.
Stomach drops as scalp conditioner: Effects
Okay, here’s the summary, so a few words about the way stomach drops affect hair and scalp.
To be honest, I’ve never had such a powerful scalp conditioner before. None of the drugstore beauty products work in a such incredible way as thinned stomach drops do. I’m amazed how strong and thick my hair got after just 3 weeks. Moreover, when I used the drops regularly I noticed less hair falling out. Basically, what I observed instead was boosted volume of my hair because the herbal extractions encouraged hair growth. Obviously, now my scalp remains clean and fresh so the problem with dandruff doesn’t exist to me any longer.
To me, stomach drops makes the best scalp conditioner. Give them a go! 🙂
