The sad truth is that parabens may influence endocrine system and cause allergic reaction. It’s also worth realizing that some parabens occur naturally in some plants. That’s the first thing. The second thing is what doctors claim to be true – that the concentrations of parabens used in beauty product are so low that it isn’t possible for them to do us any harm.

How do parabens work?

The key function of parabens is helping beauty products remain fresh for longer. Other tasks that parabens have to deal with include counteracting microbe multiplication that may irritate our skin and spoil the cosmetic. Also, in water-based beauty products parabens combat bacteria and mold that may appear. Basically, beauty products becomes less effective then and to prevent this, there are special blends of parabens used. This means that parabens are combined with other atimicrobial preservatives and then combined with a cosmetic.
